My beef with OSX and Minecraft.
Why oh why are screenshots so hard to find on a mac, why does F2 not work and Why should I be forced to use terminal to unhide my MC folder???
User Friendly??? I think not.

Rant over, but if you have any great ideas shoot them my way plz.

Hey there!

I don't use a Mac, but I know Linux.
To find screenshots and your .minecraft folder, do ⇧ + ⌘ + G and copy this:
Code:
~/Library/Application Support/minecraft

That's the easiest way!

(also to take screenshots it's Fn+F2, because just F2 itself is the Brightness Up button)

Thanks, and hope this helps,

Dan

Also once u have the .minecraft folder make a shortcut and put it on ur desktop. Makes getting to it later easier.

RE: My beef with OSX and Minecraft.
Yeah, noticed that to.

I think its because mac's are made by Apple and Windows... I think Microsoft.

Maby it has to do with the fact that ''Microsoft bought Minecraft like in 2015 {idk} so pics are easyer to see/use from MC.''

IDK!

RE: My beef with OSX and Minecraft.
Thx guys, I eventually went online and copies a command for terminal to unhide the hidden folders. I still think it’s a pain but, at least it’s done.

Or what you could do is D/L MultiMC and it works on OSX as well. I run Arch Linux normally (switched to mint and have issues with my mouse now). anywho, as was mentioned before. appending that path will absolutely make it easier to find it if you're originally from a Windows environment

RE: My beef with OSX and Minecraft.
It's all to do with how MacOS's folder structure works. Anything it thinks are system files need some technical knowledge to find, which makes sense, as modifying system files can break your device.

Also, MacOS is a *nix operating system, and folders starting with a period (.) are hidden on *nix systems.
TL;DR It's all for your own good. If you create a new Minecraft profile in the Launcher, you can set it's .Minecraft to be somewhere else - I have a separate . Minecraft for the Rift, and other experiments.

Enjoy!

Yeah makes sense. I did figure it out and was not hard really, just extra step.

You need to allow function commands in options to take screenshots. Or do command f2 I believe.

It’s not hard to Screenshot on Mac. I grew up with macs my whole life and have it down to a T.

To screenshot the whole screen press CMD + Shift + 3

To screenshot a section of a screen press CMD + Shift + 4
